USCIS announced that it has reached the congressionally mandated number of H-1B cap visas for fiscal year (FY) 2024. In the next few days, registrants whose cases were not selected this year will have their online accounts updated to show:
- Not Selected: Not selected – not eligible to file an H-1B cap petition based on this registration.
USCIS’ announcement today confirms that there will not be a third lottery for FY 2024. Any candidates who were not selected (or, who were selected but did not have a petition filed on their behalf) will need to be registered in the FY2025 registration period to have another chance at the lottery.
The next H-1B cap lottery for FY 2025 will occur in March 2024. GIP will be reaching out after the new year with additional details and deadlines.
